UTICA, NY — Police arrested a man following a domestic incident on the 900 block of Churchill Avenue on Jan. 8, 2026.
Officers were dispatched to the residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim, who stated that she and her ex-boyfriend had engaged in an argument.
During the argument, the man punched her in the face with a closed fist, according to police.
Officers learned that the victim had an active order of protection against the man.
Police located the suspect a short distance away and took him into custody without incident.
Tabiris Ford, 32, with no known address, was transported to the Utica Police Department.
Ford was charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and criminal contempt in the second degree.
