CRANSTON, RI — Police have arrested a 61-year-old man in connection with a series of residential break-ins in the Edgewood section of the city.
Terrence R. Madden, of Central Falls, was taken into custody on Jan. 12, 2026, without incident on an active arrest warrant.
Madden was wanted for a Dec. 8 breaking and entering on Wentworth Avenue.
Detectives believe he may also be responsible for multiple additional break-ins and attempted break-ins that occurred throughout Edgewood between September and December.
Madden has been charged with unlawful breaking and entering of a dwelling house and is being held pending arraignment.
Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Police are asking residents who experienced similar incidents, observed suspicious activity, or have home surveillance or doorbell camera footage from the Edgewood area during that timeframe to contact the Detective Division.
The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest.
