GROTON, CT — Three establishments failed unannounced liquor compliance inspections conducted Thursday in the Town of Groton.
Groton Police Criminal Investigation detectives, along with agents from the State of Connecticut Liquor Control Division and a representative of the Groton Alliance for Substance use Prevention, conducted the inspections to determine compliance with state laws prohibiting the serving of alcohol to persons under the age of 21.
A total of 10 unannounced compliance checks were conducted across the town.
The three establishments that failed by selling or serving underage individuals working in conjunction with Groton Police were Game Time Sports Bar at 577 Route 12 in Groton, The Harp and Hound at 4 Pearl St. in Mystic, and Milestone at 12 Water St. in Mystic.
Groton Police detectives and state Liquor Control Division agents met with the managers of the establishments that failed and advised them which employees served the minors.
The transactions were witnessed by agents observing from inside the establishments.
The results of the operation were documented and provided to the State of Connecticut Liquor Control Division and Ledge Light Health District for possible further administrative action.
The Groton Alliance for Substance use Prevention is a Ledge Light Health District program.
