UTICA, NY — A man was arrested and charged with burglary after allegedly stealing items from a grocery store where he had been previously banned.
Police were dispatched to the Hannaford on Mohawk Street at approximately 8:50 a.m. Jan. 7 regarding a larceny investigation.
Loss prevention associates told officers a man they recognized entered the store and stole items before leaving without paying.
Staff members said the man had previously been issued a ban letter for prior theft incidents at the store.
Jean Carlo Nieves-Molina, 37, of Utica, was located by New York State Parole Officers on Jan. 8 and taken into custody.
He was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
