Man arrested on drug charges in Brockport

BROCKPORT, NY — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Rochester man on drug and driving charges on Jan. 12, 2026.

Brockport Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction and identified the driver as Branden Panton, 31, of Rochester.

An investigation determined that Panton’s license or privilege to drive in New York was suspended.

Panton was taken into custody for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree.

During a search incident to arrest, police found Panton in possession of a quantity of fentanyl, 49 packages of cannabis products, a quantity of concentrated THC wax product and approximately $5,000 in mixed U.S. currency.

Panton was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, as well as criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second and third degree, and traffic infractions.

Panton is on New York State parole for criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

He was transported to the Monroe County Jail for CAP Court arraignment.
