Firefighters respond to carbon monoxide call in East Orange

EAST ORANGE, NJ — Cedar Grove firefighters were diverted to a carbon monoxide incident while responding to provide mutual aid coverage on Jan. 11, 2026.

The Cedar Grove Fire Department was initially requested at 6:54 a.m. to provide house coverage for East Orange as that department operated at a multi-alarm fire.

Truck 74 was dispatched but was redirected to a carbon monoxide incident while en route.

The crew operated at the carbon monoxide scene alongside several surrounding departments for approximately one hour.

After the incident was resolved, Truck 74 returned to Cedar Grove.
