SHOREHAM, VT — A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash Wednesday evening.
Troopers from the New Haven Barracks were notified of a crash on Elmendorf Road and Doolittle Road at approximately 8:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, troopers made contact with the operator, identified as Jason Babcock of Shoreham.
While speaking to Babcock, troopers observed multiple indicators of impairment.
After further investigation, Babcock was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
Babcock was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, which sustained front-end damage in the crash.
No injuries were reported.
Road conditions were wet and foggy at the time of the incident.
Babcock was issued a criminal citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on Jan. 26, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. for the charge of DUI refusal.
