Man arrested on attempted larceny charge in Bradford

BRADFORD, VT — A 40-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly attempting to rob a Family Dollar store.

Vermont State Police troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 7:42 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2026, for a report of an attempted robbery.

Evidence led troopers to a nearby apartment where Dennis Doner, of Bradford, was located and identified.

Further investigation revealed that Doner had attempted to rob the Family Dollar, police said.

Doner was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing.

He was released on a citation to appear in court with conditions of release.
