Woman arrested in stabbing in Watervliet

WATERVLIET, NY — A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident.

Yadira O. Lambert was involved in a domestic dispute at a private residence in the area of 6th Avenue and 25th Street on Jan. 8, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m. that resulted in a victim being stabbed in the chest, according to the Watervliet Police Department.

Responding officers were initially unable to locate the victim, but through investigation the victim was located in the city of Troy.

The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Lambert has been charged with attempted murder, a class B felony; assault in the first degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor; and tampering with evidence, a class E felony.

She was arraigned in Watervliet City Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
