PITTSFIELD, ME — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office seized approximately 780 grams of fentanyl and cocaine during a drug raid Wednesday.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Sibley Pond Road at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2026.
The warrant was obtained after a several-month investigation into alleged drug sales from the residence.
Six Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division detectives, four patrol deputies, a Pittsfield Police Department patrol officer and a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agent participated in the search.
Authorities also seized a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, $4,084 in cash, digital scales and drug paraphernalia.
The seized drugs have an approximate street value of $78,000.
Hector Marrero, 34, of New Jersey, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A felony.
Marrero is on federal probation for drug convictions in New York.
His bail was set at $100,000 cash.
Kelvin Staton, 35, of New York, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A felony.
Staton’s bail was set at $100,000 cash.
In February 2018, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office arrested Staton on aggravated drug trafficking charges related to a search warrant executed at a residence in Fairfield.
Julie McDaniel, 69, of Pittsfield, was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A felony.
The charges against all three defendants are aggravated due to the amount of drugs seized, the presence of the loaded shotgun and past felony drug convictions.
All three defendants are scheduled to appear in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court on May 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
