SOUTH BERWICK, ME — A man was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend.
Jeremiah Godfrey was sentenced Thursday for killing Sherri Sweet on March 22 in their South Berwick home.
Godfrey was also ordered to pay $500,000 in restitution to Sweet’s children.
The South Berwick Police Department, Maine State Police and the Maine Attorney General’s Office investigated the case.
