MANCHESTER, NY — New York State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of County Route 7 and State Route 96 on Jan. 6, 2026, resulting in serious injuries to one operator.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m.

The investigation determined that a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, operated by a 55-year-old male, was traveling northbound on County Route 7 when it failed to stop for a red traffic signal.

The vehicle subsequently entered the intersection and was struck on the passenger side by a westbound 2012 Chevrolet Express box truck operated by Colby A. Baker, 30, of Fairport.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles overturned and came to rest off the roadway.

The 55-year-old male was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Baker was transported by private vehicle to F.F. Thompson Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted on Baker, and no impairment was detected.

The roadway has since been reopened, and all New York State Police assets have cleared the scene.
