NORTH SALEM, NY — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 684 early Sunday morning.
New York State Police Somers responded to the area of mile marker 24.3 southbound on Interstate 684 at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday for a report of a car-versus-pedestrian collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a male was walking in the left lane of Interstate 684 when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
The victim has been identified as Arturo Martinez Jimenez, 54, of Brewster, New York.
The investigation remains ongoing.
