MONT VERNON, NH — Police have arrested a man in connection with a 2023 burglary in which two firearms were stolen from a residence.
Jackson Piscopo, of Hillsboro, was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm and criminal liability for the conduct of another, according to the Mont Vernon Police Department.
The arrest followed a lengthy investigation into a Dec. 14, 2023, break-in at a residence on Old Amherst Road.
Police said the home was burglarized during daytime hours when suspects entered through a window and stole two firearms.
One of the stolen firearms was recovered on Dec. 22, 2023.
Information gathered during the investigation pointed to Piscopo and another suspect as being involved in the burglary.
Arrest warrants were obtained in June 2024, but previous attempts to locate and arrest Piscopo were unsuccessful.
Police said the residence was not selected at random.
Piscopo’s accomplice has fled the New England region and was most recently known to be in Pennsylvania, police said.
Piscopo was ordered held without bail at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections.
He is scheduled to appear Thursday in 9th Circuit Court in Milford.
The New Boston Police Department and Hillsboro Police Department assisted in the investigation.
