Man arrested for unlawful mischief in Montpelier

MONTPELIER, VT — A man was arrested after a window was broken at a financial institution on State Street.

The Montpelier Police Department responded to the report at approximately 7:04 a.m. on Jan. 8.

During the investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest Christopher McCarthy, 56, who is transient.

McCarthy was processed and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Washington Criminal Division, on Feb. 19 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of unlawful mischief.
