DANBURY, CT — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at a home on Lake Avenue on Jan. 7.
Officers responded to the scene at 8:37 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.
A firearm was discharged inside a townhouse, with a single round traveling through a wall and striking a neighbor who was inside their home at the time, according to preliminary information.
The victim was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The person believed to be responsible left the scene before officers arrived.
Detectives are continuing efforts to locate the individual.
Police said this was an isolated incident and they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.
