Fatal crash under investigation in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, NY — The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal, single-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 351.

The vehicle was traveling northbound on NY 351 when it left the roadway and entered a steep ravine, according to a preliminary investigation.

Deputies responded to the scene along with members of the Eagle Mills Fire Department, Poestenkill Fire Department, New York State Police and additional first responders.

The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

NY 351 was temporarily closed between White Church Road and Dearstyne Road to allow emergency personnel to safely operate and to conduct the investigation, but has since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
