PLAINVILLE, CT — Two masked suspects forced their way into a home on Whiting Street and robbed residents at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The Plainville Police Department responded to the single-family residence at about 1:08 p.m. for a report of an active home invasion.

The suspects, dressed in all black, entered the residence by force, according to police.

At least one suspect was armed with a handgun and displayed it during the robbery, police said.

The suspects stole cell phones and wallets from the residents before fleeing.

The suspects fled southbound toward Southington in a silver sedan driven by at least one other suspect, according to police.

No shots were fired and no residents were injured.

Evidence indicates the residence was likely targeted and the incident was not a random act, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Plainville Police Detective Division at 860-747-1616.
