WATERVILLE, ME — A month-long drug investigation resulted in the seizure of over 16 pounds of methamphetamine and an illegal firearm.
Members of the Waterville Police Department executed several search warrants at approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2025.
The methamphetamine has a street value of over $100,000.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Winslow Police Department and Fairfield Police Department assisted in the operation.
Andrew Symonevich, 48, of Waterville, was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A felony, and illegal possession of a firearm, a Class B felony.
Bail was set at $35,000 with an initial court date of Feb. 23, 2026.
The investigation is still active and additional charges may be forthcoming.
Chief William Bonney said the seizure was one of the largest illicit drug seizures in the state’s history.
