Man dies in crash in Monroe Township

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 65-year-old Williamstown man died following a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon.

Monroe Township police responded to the area of N. Tuckahoe Road and Riley Street at 1:53 p.m. Jan. 2 for a motor vehicle crash.

Police determined a 2016 Cadillac SRX operated by the man was traveling south on Tuckahoe Road when it crossed over the northbound lane and shoulder before impacting the curb.

The Cadillac continued along the curb line until striking a tree.

The driver was transported to Jefferson Hospital-Washington Township, where he was pronounced dead at 3:04 p.m.

The collision is being investigated by Ptl. Frank Paulson of the Monroe Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau.

Monroe Township police were assisted at the scene by Williamstown Fire Department, Gloucester County EMS, Inspira Hospital ALS, Cooper Health and the Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office.
