PENN YAN, NY — A 44-year-old man was arrested on weapons charges following the execution of a search warrant Monday morning.
Kristopher Mahan, of Penn Yan, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and failure to safely store rifle, shotgun and firearms.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation executed the search warrant at 2966 Route 54A at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 6.
The warrant was the result of a joint investigation between the two agencies.
Mahan was transported to the Yates County Jail for processing and released.
He is scheduled to answer the charges in Jerusalem Town Court at a later date.
