ALBANY, NY — Four people were arrested Tuesday following a burglary at a convenience store on Ontario Street.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Mr. Convenient, located at 82 Ontario Street, at around 8:40 a.m.
Two individuals observed in possession of stolen items from the store were taken into custody at the scene.
Two additional individuals matching the description broadcast over police radio were located and taken into custody in the area of Ontario Street and First Street after exiting a nearby residence.
A search warrant was executed at the residence by members of the Albany Police Department, where multiple items stolen from the store were recovered.
A loaded 9mm handgun was recovered from inside the residence.
Through investigation, it has been determined that all four individuals gained entry into the store through a window.
Taimeka McKiever, 38, of Albany, has been charged with one count of burglary in the third degree and one count of grand larceny in the third degree.
Ashley Fitzgerald, 38, of Schenectady, was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree and one count of grand larceny in the third degree.
Adam Dittmar, 39, of Leeds, was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree and one count of grand larceny in the third degree.
Joseph Nadal, 45, of Albany, has been charged with one count of burglary in the third degree, one count of grand larceny in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Fitzgerald, Dittmar and Nadal were arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
McKiever was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and released under the supervision of Albany County Probation Services.
