RICHFORD, NY — A two-vehicle crash on State Route 79 left one person dead and two others injured Friday afternoon.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 1:33 p.m. on Jan. 3.
The operator of the first vehicle was transported to Wilson Hospital and later transferred to Upstate Medical Center.
The operator of the second vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash.
A passenger in the second vehicle was taken to Wilson Hospital for treatment.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Crash Investigation and Drone Units, Richford Fire Department, Berkshire Fire Department, Maine EMS, New York State Police and the New York State Department of Transportation.
