KINGSTON, NY — A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire that damaged a Catskill Mountain Railroad locomotive.
John J. Dwyer, of Kingston, was arrested Thursday in connection to the Jan. 1 fire and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and fifth-degree arson, a misdemeanor.
Police said investigators determined the fire was set in the cab of the locomotive.
Authorities said they do not believe the Catskill Mountain Railroad was directly targeted.
Dwyer was arraigned in Ulster County CAP Court and released on his own recognizance to return to Kingston City Court on Monday.
He was released by Kingston City Court to return Thursday, Jan. 8.
Police said additional arrests are expected.
