SARATOGA, NY — Two men face burglary and larceny charges after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing a rifle.
Joseph R. Briggs, 43, of Johnsonville, and Michael D. Briggs, 49, of Buskirk, were charged Dec. 26 with burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Both men also face charges of grand larceny in the 4th degree and conspiracy in the 4th degree, both class E felonies.
The pair is accused of knowingly entering and remaining unlawfully in a dwelling in the town of Saratoga with intent to commit a crime.
They are also accused of stealing a rifle from the residence and agreeing with one or more persons to engage in conduct constituting a class C felony.
Both were arraigned before the Honorable Charles Sherman in the Saratoga Town Court.
They were remanded back to the Saratoga County Jail where they were being held on separate charges, pending further proceedings.
