VERNON, VT — A California man was arrested on an outstanding warrant Jan. 2.
Sidney Rivers Jr., 25, of Eureka, California, was taken into custody at a facility in Vernon, according to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office.
A detective with the sheriff’s office learned of an active arrest warrant for Rivers issued by the Superior Court of Vermont-Criminal Division-Windham Unit.
Deputies developed information on Rivers’ possible whereabouts and located him later in the evening.
Rivers was arrested without incident.
He faces charges of abuse of a vulnerable adult-sexual abuse by a caretaker-sexual act, sexual assault-no consent, and vulnerable adult-sexual abuse by a caretaker-lewd and lascivious conduct.
Rivers was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 5.
Bail was set at $100,000 cash or surety bond.
