Man arrested in home invasion robbery in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred in July on Kewanee Road.

Shakeem Hinds, 28, of Brooklyn, was arrested Dec. 22 without incident in front of his residence following a five-month investigation by New Rochelle detectives.

On the evening of July 22, the victim returned home and was immediately accosted by multiple suspects.

The suspects displayed firearms, assaulted the victim, and stole a Rolex watch and a gold necklace before fleeing the scene.

Hinds was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and fourth-degree conspiracy.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests are possible.
