PORT JERVIS, NY — Firefighters extinguished a stovetop fire in an apartment on Franklin Street on Thursday night.
Port Jervis Fire Department companies and Milford Fire Department responded to the scene after smoke was observed coming from the windows.
Entry into the apartment was delayed due to an aggressive animal inside.
Port Jervis Police and Animal Control secured the scene before firefighters could enter.
Crews found an active fire on a stovetop and quickly extinguished it.
Milford Fire Department was released from the scene after the fire was put out.
No injuries were reported.
