BROOKFIELD, VT — A single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 89 northbound sent a New York man to the hospital on Jan. 1.
Troopers from the Berlin Barracks were dispatched to the crash near mile marker 38 at approximately 1:03 p.m.
Michael Toshack, 60, of Canton, New York, was driving a 2026 Nissan Rogue in the left lane when the vehicle drifted into the snow along the median, according to state police.
The vehicle collided with the guard rail and continued into the median, where it rolled onto the driver’s side.
The vehicle came to rest pointing north in the median.
Toshack, who was wearing a seat belt, reported minor injuries including back pain.
He was transported to Gifford Medical Center by EMS for further screening.
The Brookfield Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The vehicle sustained major damage to the driver’s side front bumper and both driver’s side doors.
Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.
