PENN YAN, NY — Police are searching for a 43-year-old woman indicted on charges of abandoning her child and animals.
Ashley Montgomery is wanted by the Penn Yan Police Department on a Superior Court arrest warrant.
Montgomery, of Syracuse, faces charges of abandonment of a child, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief and abandonment of animals.
Police said Montgomery abandoned her child and animals alone in a residence.
Authorities believe Montgomery fled to the Syracuse or Baldwinsville area.
Montgomery is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
