WORCESTER, MA — Two 17-year-old juveniles were arrested Tuesday in connection with a September shooting on Boys & Girls Club Way, according to the Worcester Police Department.

The arrests followed a joint investigation by the Worcester Police Detective Bureau, Crime Gun Unit, Gang Unit, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Postal Inspector Service.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for one of the juveniles in connection with the shooting that occurred Sept. 25.

A separate investigation by the Crime Gun Unit, working with ATF and U.S. Postal Inspector Service, focused on illegal firearm possession and manufacturing involving the same juvenile and another male juvenile.

On Dec. 30, detectives executed two search warrants, one at an address on Boys & Girls Club Way and another on Oberlin Street.

A firearm, ammunition, and tools and instruments used in firearm manufacturing were recovered during the searches.

One juvenile faces charges related to the shooting and firearm possession.

The other juvenile faces charges of possession of ammunition and possession of class B drugs with intent to distribute.

The original incident occurred Sept. 25 at approximately 5:40 p.m. when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on Boys & Girls Club Way.

Officers located a firearm and evidence at the scene, along with bullet holes in a vehicle and an apartment window.

Willie Watson, 22, of Worcester, was arrested after officers observed him running through traffic on Hammond Street with his hands clutched to his waistband.

Watson was found in possession of a loaded firearm and does not have a license to carry.

Chance Toney, 20, of Worcester, arrived at an area hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was determined to have been at the scene while armed without a license to carry.
