MOUNT MORRIS, NY — Two people face felony burglary charges following a break-in at a business on Chapel Street.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglar alarm at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 23.
Deputies confirmed forced entry was made into the business and items were stolen.
Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Wade arrested Ulises Valentin-Surillo, 51, of Mount Morris, and Ashley Zigenfus, 34, of Mount Morris, on Dec. 24.
Both were charged with felony burglary in the third degree, felony criminal mischief in the second degree, misdemeanor petit larceny, misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and misdemeanor possession of burglars tools.
Valentin-Surillo and Zigenfus were transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Both were arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town of Leicester Justice Scofield.
The judge released both on their own recognizance as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented both individuals at arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
