HANOVER, NH — Police are investigating after a missing person was found dead inside a vehicle at Wilson’s Landing on Dec. 30.
The Hanover Police Department was contacted by Vermont State Police at approximately 3 p.m. regarding a missing person whose vehicle had been observed in the Wilson’s Landing parking lot during a search.
A check of the vehicle revealed the missing person was deceased inside.
Police said no foul play is currently suspected.
Chemicals were found in the vehicle, and members of the Hanover Fire Department and Midwestern Hazardous Materials Response Team cleared the scene for safety purposes.
The vehicle and surrounding area were determined to be safe, and the vehicle was removed from the lot.
Wilson’s Landing has reopened for public access.
The deceased was transferred to the New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
The deceased was identified as a 24-year-old white male from Vermont.
The family of the deceased has been notified.
