WARE, MA — A man was arrested Tuesday after police received reports of someone walking the streets with a machete on Otis Avenue.
Hector Peterson III, of Ware, faces charges of vandalism of property, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug.
Police said Peterson was wielding a machete and was found in possession of crack cocaine.
Peterson was transported to Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown for arraignment.
He is being held until Jan. 5 pending a dangerousness hearing.
