TAUNTON, MA — A Taunton man was arrested Wednesday following a search warrant execution that yielded a firearm, drugs and cash, according to the Fall River Police Department.
Jaymeson Andre Freitas, 18, of Taunton, was taken into custody without incident after detectives discovered he was allegedly in illegal possession of a firearm and distributing controlled substances in the Fall River and Taunton area.
Fall River Police Department’s C.A.S.T. detectives, with support from the Taunton Police Department and the Bristol County Mass State Police Detective Unit, applied for and were granted a search warrant for Freitas’ Taunton address.
The search warrant was executed Wednesday with assistance from the Fall River Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit.
Officers seized a Canik 9mm firearm, a large capacity 50-round drum magazine, approximately 2.7 pounds of marijuana, ammunition and approximately $6,700 in cash.
Freitas does not possess a license to carry or firearms identification card as he is ineligible, according to police.
He was booked by the Massachusetts State Police at the Middleboro Barracks.
