GENEVA, NY — Members of the Geneva Police Department Uniform Division conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street on Monday.
Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Jason Matthew Bansal.
During the traffic stop, a photo of the police department’s K-9 unit was shared on social media showing the dog assisting with the investigation.
When the K-9 alerted, police said they had probable cause to search the vehicle.
Officers discovered marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle.
They also found prescription drugs that appeared to be controlled substances, along with drug paraphernalia.
Bansal was transported to the Geneva City Jail where he was processed and released into custody of Geneva Police Department.
Jason Matthew Bansal, 52, of Geneva, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
