BROADALBIN, NY — State police arrested a man on drunken driving charges after responding to a report of an unconscious driver Dec. 17.

Troopers from the Mayfield barracks responded to the area of South Second Avenue at about 8:47 p.m. for the report of an unconscious driver.

The driver was identified as Brian S. Earl, 51, of Broadalbin.

Police said Earl was uncooperative during the investigation and attempted to flee on foot while being taken into custody.

Earl was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, resisting arrest and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was transported to the Mayfield state police barracks for processing, where he refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood.
