Woman arrested on DWI, child endangerment charges in Clinton

CLINTON, NY — A Clinton woman faces multiple charges including driving while intoxicated and child endangerment following a domestic incident on Dec. 29.

Patrol deputies assigned to the Waterville Field Office responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the Village of Clinton, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Upon completion of the investigation, deputies determined that Nicole Beratta had engaged in a verbal argument with the victim that escalated into a physical altercation while children were present.

During the course of the investigation, Beratta was found to be operating a motor vehicle back to the residence.

Deputies concluded there were indicators of alcohol impairment on scene.

Beratta was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor; harassment in the second degree, a violation; and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

Beratta was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing.

She was then transported to the Oneida County Jail where she is being held pending arraignment at the Oneida County Central Arraignment Court.

Charges are returnable to the Kirkland Town Court.
