MIDDLEBURGH, NY — State Police arrested two people on drug charges following a traffic stop on Dec. 16.
Michelle C. Pickett, 51, of Middleburgh, and Steven E. Noxon, 41, of Middleburgh, were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, a class A felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Noxon was also charged with a vehicle and traffic law violation.
State Police from the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit had received information about suspicious activity believed to be associated with the sale of illicit drugs at a residence on the 200 block of Main Street in Middleburgh.
Troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Noxon on State Route 145 in Middleburgh for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Pickett was a passenger in the vehicle.
Investigation determined both individuals lived at the residence under investigation.
A large quantity of narcotics, U.S. currency, packaging materials and a digital scale were discovered on Pickett and Noxon and within the vehicle, police said.
All items were seized.
Both were arrested and transported to State Police Cobleskill for processing.
They were arraigned at Schoharie County Centralized Arraignment Part Court and remanded to Schoharie County Correctional Facility without bail.
