SHELDON, VT — A 21-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on VT Route 78 on Dec. 26.
Vermont State Police said troopers from the St. Albans Barracks were notified of the crash with operator entrapment near 1126 VT Route 78 at approximately 8:40 p.m.
Jacob King, 21, of Sheldon, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers, Brennan Pandis, 21, of Highgate, and Raven Graves, 21, of Highgate, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene and released by medical personnel.
Troopers, Amcare and Sheldon Fire responded to the crash.
Investigation revealed King lost control of the 2015 Audi A4 and struck a tree.
Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
Road conditions were partially snow-covered at the time of the incident.
None of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seat belts.
