BOSTON, MA — A man was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly breaking into a downtown convenience store and threatening to kill police officers.

About 5:08 a.m., officers assigned to District A-1 responded to the area of 50 Summer Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress.

Upon arrival, officers found the front glass door of the convenience store shattered and the cash register taken.

While officers were speaking with the victim, responding officers located an individual matching the suspect’s description across the street.

When officers attempted to place the suspect into handcuffs, he immediately began to resist and threatened to kill officers, according to police.

After multiple de-escalation tactics, the suspect was handcuffed and the stolen merchandise was recovered.
