LEICESTER, MA — A man was arrested after police responded to reports of a suspicious person attempting to enter homes on Pleasant Street.
Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 20 for a report of a male walking through someone’s yard and trying to get into houses.
Officer Ives Fisher located a subject matching the suspect’s description walking along Pleasant Street.
A search of the person located two knives, drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of suspected crack cocaine, according to police.
Michael Burnette, 59, of Southbridge, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted breaking and entering and possession of a Class B controlled substance.
Burnette was held on $2,500 cash bail and arraigned in East Brookfield District Court on Dec. 22.
