HARTLAND, NY — Emergency crews responded to a possible structure fire on Stone Road at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday.
Responding units found a garage fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading into the attached residence.
No people were found inside the home.
Fire companies from across Niagara and Orleans counties were called to control the blaze.
Authorities believe several animals died in the fire.
Officials said the home is likely a total loss.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit.
