WILLIAMSTOWN, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 64 on Tuesday afternoon.
Larry Ellison, 74, of Williamstown, was driving west on Route 64 near Henry Road at 5:13 p.m. when his 2009 Toyota Corolla drifted off the road and crashed, police said.
Troopers responding to the scene observed signs of impairment while speaking with Ellison, according to police.
Ellison was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
He was transported by rescue to The Central Vermont Medical Center for evaluation of suspected minor injuries.
The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage.
Road conditions were wet and weather was cloudy at the time of the crash.
Ellison was later released with a citation to appear in Orange Superior Court – Criminal Division at a later date.
