Criminal possession of controlled substance charge in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY — On December 23, members of the New York State Police Troop B Community Stabilization Unit charged Joshua M. Boyd, III, 30, of Charlotte, NC, with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, a Class A-I felony.

Troopers were patrolling in Plattsburgh when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple violations.

Police interviewed the occupants and searched the vehicle.

During the investigation, troopers found Boyd in possession of over half a pound of crack-cocaine and an amount of United States currency consistent with drug distribution.

Boyd was arrested and transported to the State Police station in Plattsburgh for processing.

He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and remanded without bail to Clinton County Jail.
