TREMONT, ME — Maine State Police are investigating after two adults were found dead near Big Rocks Road on Tuesday morning.
Southwest Harbor Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 8:57 a.m. reporting the discovery of two deceased adults at the scene.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North is investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths in coordination with Southwest Harbor Police.
The deceased will be transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where autopsies will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
Members of the Maine State Police Evidence Response Team were dispatched to the scene to process available evidence.
State police believe this is an isolated incident with no ongoing public safety concerns.
