UTICA, NY — Police arrested a man after a stabbing on Dec. 21.
Utica Police and Utica Fire units were dispatched to a residence on the 400 block of Pinewood Drive at approximately 7:50 p.m. regarding a stabbing investigation.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that he engaged in an argument with his brother when the brother pulled out a knife and stabbed him once in the side of the abdomen.
Gregory Wakeel, 49, of Utica, was detained and transported to the Utica Police Department.
The victim was transported to Wynn Hospital by Utica Fire Department with injuries that were not life threatening.
Wakeel was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
