Man arrested on criminal mischief charge in Corinth

CORINTH, NY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance Friday at 7:13 p.m. on Hook Road.

Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of the following person for criminal mischief in the 1st degree (Class E felony) and assault in the 3rd degree (Class A misdemeanor): Erik T. Clothier, 52, of Corinth.

Clothier is accused of intentionally damaging property of another person in an amount exceeding $250.

He allegedly smashed a window and the door to a residence.

Clothier is also accused of recklessly causing physical injury to another person by starting a physical altercation with them resulting in harm to their head.

He was arraigned before the Honorable Lara Schamerhom in the Corinth Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings in that court.

The charges filed in the matter are not considered qualifying offenses for the purpose of setting bail under the New York state law that went into effect in January 2020.
