SMITHFIELD, RI — A Massachusetts man was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon.
Joseph Polouski, 55, of Webster, Massachusetts, was taken into custody at 2:03 p.m. on Route 295.
State Police said Polouski was arrested on an affidavit arrest warrant for shoplifting that originated from the Smithfield Police Department.
The arrest occurred after troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on the highway.
Polouski was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing.
He was later turned over to the Smithfield Police Department.
