PROVIDENCE, RI — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in Massachusetts on Friday night.
Troopers arrested Corey A. Johnson, 36, of Coventry, at 10:30 p.m. on Carpenter Street.
Johnson was wanted as a fugitive from justice out of Attleboro, Massachusetts, on an original charge of passing forged checks from the Attleboro Police Department.
Following his arrest, Johnson was transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.
He was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace before being turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
